Shelaine Prince

Shelaine Prince is an Independent Entertainment professional who earned her Performing Arts Degree in Drama through NESCOT in 2005. Adding to her artistic credentials, Prince moved into the professional field of Dance in 2012. She became a Co-Director of Ignition Dance Company whilst gaining a qualification as an ETM Fitness Instructor through the YMCA syllabus.
After teaching fitness classes under Ignition Dance Company for a year, Prince coined the name Jamercise Fitness, which helped to define the fitness element of Ignition Dance. Through Jamercise both Prince and Patterson developed their former class structures, pushing Jamercise Fitness into a new direction which now benefits their customers. Prince has an infectious and comedic personality who has experience of acting, a love for dance styles Dancehall, Afro-beats, Street Dance and a wealth of experience in health and fitness. Working within the industry UK-wide, Prince has performed for a variety of events including Live, corporate, Televisual, Advertising and club events.
Prince’s most recent credit includes being a featured dancer in music video for Clean Bandit “Come Over” feat Stylo Gee in 2014. She danced alongside top UK Dancehall professionals including Alicja Blachute, Paradigums, DHK Shortman, and Cindy Claess.
As a freelance Dance teacher Prince works with a variety of ages teaching youth Street Dance at After School Clubs, Dance Fitness and Kizomba to Mature Adults for external companies.
In 2013 Prince and Verona Patterson (Founder of Ignition Dance Company) put their Organisational & Social skills to the test and held their first event ‘Body fusion under their events company Prince and Patterson. Body Fusion came to life at the popular South London Club ‘Club Couture’ holding a capacity of 200 people. Prince& Patterson completed a very successful night for New Year’s Eve reaching full capacity.
Early Years
Prince trained as a Gymnast from the age of 3 winning multiple trophy’s and medals on behalf of her school, advancing into representing for the Borough of Croydon Gymnastics Team. She has also performed at numerous events for Crystal Palace between the years of 1994-1996
In the summer of 1999 at The Ashcroft Theatre Prince played a lead role performing’ Where we are from’, written by Kevin Spacey at Edwina Porter Theatre, a highly acclaimed community theatre production which was asked by the Mayer of Croydon to repeat the show. The show continued its success at the Young Vic Theatre and the Old Vic Theatre.
Prince continued to perform in theatres throughout the UK, including a musical theatre production ‘Bright Stars’ at The Warehouse Theatre, whilst also contributing to marketing and the Albany Theatre in 2000. In 2005 Prince Directed and choreographed the production ‘History’ which was staged at Edwina Porter Theatre.
